Concerted Services is a part of our community - at the heart of our community! The great folks at Concerted Services are there to assist the youngest to the oldest residents in Waycross and Ware County. Concerted Services provides Head Start and Child development programs, educational talent search, community care services program, and nutrition program for the elderly. The Ware County service center located at 1303 Gilmore Street is now open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and is now closed on Fridays.
The Okefenokee Regional Library System is proud to offer Learning Express! Learning Express includes practice tests, exercises, skill building courses, ebooks and information you need to achiever the results you want - at school, at work and life in general. If you're after a new job there is a learning center at the library that's right for you. The practice tests include the GED, the GRE and the SAT, and also computer skills, job search and workplace skills. The Okefenokee Track and Cycling club is an affiliate organization of the Childers Family YMCA. The club encouraging fitness through running, jogging, walking and cycling. There are everal members who routinely participate in tri-athlons, Iron Man events, and extended runs, such as the 17th annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival 5k run and walk which was on Saturday, April 30th.
